Security Data Analyst Job Description

As part of our team, your responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, asset identification, data log identification, log ingestion, and log transformation and data normalization. Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance characteristics and quality control plans to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ingest, normalize, and audit log data into the Customers Security Analytics platform
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Leverage tools and AI to identify and categorize all assets within the Customer estate
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources 
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter, audit and “clean” data by transforming data ingestion methods
  • Work with team leadership to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities


  • Understanding the role of a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
  • The ability to learn, understand, apply, and debug regular expressions in a cyber security context.
  • The ability to read and understand log data, security data, server logs and workstation logs.
  • Knowledge of one or more operating systems from an administrative perspective.  Linux is preferred.
  • Familiarity with statistics and how statistics apply to AI/SecOps
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to cooperate with others to jointly accomplish technical goals.
  • The ability to clearly express concepts, ideas, and status in both oral and written form. 
  • Must be willing to learn and apply scripting techniques to automate technical solutions.
